Hi Greg here, I’m a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer based in New York City. I started making backing tracks a few years ago just for fun and uploading them to YouTube. After a few years, I’ve produced 100’s of Free Professional Backing Tracks to play drums with. DrumlessJazz.com is a niche site I built to feature these drumless jazz tracks and new drumless play along jazz tracks alike.

Backing Tracks are categorized by tempo, time signature, and style. (See tags)

  1. Great site Greg! This site would be very helpful to my music crazy friends, I’ll be sending them here to check it all out.

  2. Great introduction, I love how your site offers a lot of information about drums and jazz. Are there any drum lessons that I can take online? Is that even possible?
    Paulina

    1. Hi Paulina, Thanks for the comment. There are a few places I’ve seen online that I’m going to write about soon. You may want to check out the Learn and Master Classes, Not only do they have drum lessons but the offer many courses including but not limited to:

Learn & Master Guitar, Painting, Dance, Piano, Photography, and more.

      Thanks,

      Greg

  3. Hi Greg,

First of all I just want to say all the best with your niche and putting your heart and soul into this. Doing something we love as a profession is rarely seen in this world. So I really hope it is successful for you.

Secondly, I was really intrigued to see that drumming is 150 years old. I would never have imagined that. Although I can see how it has evolved with time, I just didn’t think that it went that far back.

  4. Great site Greg, tons of useful information, the tracks are really cool. Very subtle, elegant and simple. Navigation is very easy because of being well organized, it is definitely a winner.
Only comment is that perhaps you could more aids for beginner drummers, such as: the original song with drums, drum tabs, videos with basic rhythms, etc.
A newsletter when you add new songs and a song suggestion page would also draw more engagement and traffic.
The way you integrate your affiliate amazon on the site is very nice too, giving information about the documentaries, it is suggesting and not annoying, the highlights you give are great teasers into buying the products. I really see a lot coming through to your site. Have a good one Greg and keep on jazzing.

    1. Hi Mario,

Thanks for the comments and all the suggestions, I’ll take them into concentration. Maybe I’ll add drum charts and a version with drums soon.

      Thanks again,

      Greg

  5. I’m so glad I came across your site! It is literally my dream job to be a procuder! I post some songs on sound cloud every now and then 🙂

You’re site looks great – it looks very professional. I really enjoyed the history that you brought in – it shows readers that you truly have a passion for music. People love passion.

  6. Wow I just watched one of your YouTube Videos and you are awesome, what a great drummer you are Greg! This site is a great resource for anybody wanting to play along, getting those jazz tunes and improvise drumming.

    Thank you,

  7. Hey Greg – very cool service/product you are offering here. As a lifelong musician myself (mostly guitar, but also bass and some piano, and a singer) who has played in all kinds of bands, including rock, country, r&b, jazz and jazz-rock fusion, I can see where this would be very helpful for aspiring drummer musicians to “get in the groove” without having to be in a band while learning.

Great stuff, I’m going to share this website with some young musicians I know!
