EZDrummer Free Alternative – MT Power Drumkit 2 Audio Units – VST Plugin

If your looking for a free EZ drummer alternative then check out the MTPowerDrumkit2. This free drum kit plugin is available for Mac and PC as an Audio Unit or VST. In my review video I test it out with my Roland / Quietest Electronic Drums – Home Made Low Volume E Drum Pads and show off some of the thousands of include grooves.

The MTPowerDrumkit2 has one multi layer drum sampler rock drum kit with a simple mixer and groove library.
The mixer section comes with multi out vol, pan, and compersion for each individual outputs, kick, snare and so on.

“The MT Power Drum Kit is a free drum sampler offering the powerful, high-quality sounds of an acoustic, realistic drum kit. Samples have been specially recorded and processed to make them ideally suited for use in pop, rock and metal productions.”

The MT Power Drum Kit Sampler claims that the drum samplers are pre-processed with compressors and EQs to make them a perfect fit for any mix.

The compressors built into the channels give you even more control over the level of compression.

You can choose from thousands of assorted rhythms in the comprehensive Groove Library and compose your own drum accompaniment. In particular, the innovative functions for creating fills generate very smooth and realistic drum tracks.

Improvisation Drumming – Workout with Propellerhead’s Figure app

I wouldn’t define this as jazz improvisation but it sure is fun. I call it free-form jazz rock fusion electronic something.

Improvising on the drums is a really fun way to communicate your drumming skills, techniques, rudiments, patterns, fills, and more. Plus it’s a great workout. I wouldn’t define this video as jazz improvisation but it sure is fun. I call it free-form jazz rock fusion electronic something.

While there are tons of backing tracks here on DrumlessJazz.com and YouTube, there are many ways to make your own backing tracks and/or loops to play along with.

In the video below, I started with a simple synth & bass loop created in Propellerhead’s iOS app Figure then did some improv on the drum kit. The drums were recorded with just my iPhone mic then mixed in Logic Pro X. No need for sheet music or a Bluetooth page turner. Nothing fancy. Just fun.

What are some of your favorite ways to improvise on the kit?
Let me know in the comments below.

Jazz SessionBand Chord-Based Audio Loop app for iOS

I get asked all the time if people can use the tracks I made for making their own songs. I can not give permission on SessionBand app’s behalf. They offer a non-exclusive license agreement if you buy the app.

A lot of the tracks on this site are made with SessionBand app (link below), an iOS app for making your own tracks.

Can I use these tracks for my music?

I get asked all the time if people can use the tracks I made for making their own songs. I can not give permission on SessionBand app’s behalf. They offer a non-exclusive license agreement if you buy the app.

In other words, once you purchase the SessionBand app, you may use the sounds in accordance with their license agreement.

If you wish to make your own tracks, I recommend getting the app and reading their license agreement. There are 3 vols of Jazz. See demos below.

No Thanks, I just want to play for now. OK. Then get back to practicing.
Try one of these: Jazz Ballad No Drums Backing Track 60 BPM ,  or
